Hawthorne II Homeowners’ Association Meeting Minutes September 11, 2023

Capital Improvements
Reminder of our Focus areas for 2023:

  • Upgrade/Refresh landscaping around the lake and entrances Monitor Security camera options for our subdivision(s)
  • Paint light posts around the lake - Complete
  • Build an Operations Manual for the H2 HOA Board
  • Run new electrical wire to median entrance at Acres – reviewing options with
  • Proposal to change covenants for potential votes at annual meeting

Action - Activities

  • Review Jeremy’s proposal for updating the waterfall area
    Board unanimously approved moving ahead with all 3 phases yet this fall, Jeff will notify Jeremy
  • Prepare for annual meeting – Parke Hotel on November 15, doors open 600 meeting begins 630 Prep: invites, location, topics – Mark will connect with Toni to finalize, Jeff will contact hotel
  • Determine our capital suggestions for 2024
    Use of AirBnB within the subdivision – next steps (prepare for vote if needed)
  • Speeding issue on Stephanie, Woodbine, and Derby – next steps
  • Make sure website is updated prior to residents receiving meeting invite - Include proxy information Goosinator activity – Lock, Sign up, training on Sept 21 @ 530 pm
  • Locks for electrical and sprinkler boxes on common grounds
  • Moss issue on lake is better, may need to be more proactive next year
  • Beer fence request approved

Hawthorne II Association Events
  • Association board meetings are generally held monthly (see the online minutes) 
  • Association annual meeting held in November (November 15th for 2023)
  • H2A annual dues are mailed out around March 1st each year and are due by March 31. After the due date late fees and interest are added.  See Online payment options.
  • City bulk pickup first week of May and October
  • H2A future garage sale plans are on hold
